Island News: Green dye reveals restroom wastewater reaching Sharks Cove water

PUPUKEA, Hawaii (Island News) -- A green glow in the waters of Sharks Cove is drawing attention on the North Shore, but the unusual color is part of a scientific study investigating a long-standing community concern.

Mālama Pūpūkea-Waimea and Wastewater Alternatives and Innovations (WAI) recently injected a non-toxic fluorescent dye into the wastewater system serving the restrooms at Pūpūkea Beach Park.
